Everything is f**kin perfect! (4th July) Boom Monk Ben, regular contributor from Glasgow, steps into the hot seat for the first hour with a lesson in beat broadness. Music on offer from Rustie, Hot Chip, Prince, Spank Rock, Benga & Coki, and bunch more of the finest for your listening pleasure. Strictly Kev takes over for the second hour with vintage Solid Steel from 1996. More gems from the mine, this edition being the first show that Strictly Kev had sole control over without Coldcut or PC. “It was recorded in the heyday of ‘The Blue Note years’ as I like to think of them, the days when Hoxton was still a new haunt for club kids and tourists in the know, pre-333, Cargo, Herbal, White Cube and all the others that came after. This was the year it was all really swinging at the Blue Note, with Ninja Tune, Mo Wax, Wall of Sound, Anohka, Bloodsugar (Weatherall), Far Out and of course, Metalheadz running nights regularly. The music being released was out of this world!”

Gladiators ready! (11th July) Hexstatic storm the studio and deliver some beat broadness for the feet! Music on the operating table from The Blackbyrds, Lykke Li, Chateua Flight, Masters At Work and more of the finest electronic delights. Ojciec Karol from the Break Da Funk collective out of Poland steps up for the second hour. This special edition mix was recorded with additional musicians providing vocals,trumpet and keyboards for your pleasure. This week (18th July) DJ Moneyshot is ready to bang in your face baby!! Music on the platters from The Aston Shuffle, Sam Moultrie, Crookers, Black Grass and more gems to get the weekend well and truly up and running! Revival time! PC from DJ Food with another vintage slice of Solid Steel from 1997. The sets incorporate his trademark Boss delay pedal, spoken word, Jazz, Music Concréte, Drum n Bass and heavy beats, all sewn together so seamlessly that it’s impossible to spot the joins. His mastery of the art of DJing never ceases to amaze, as his style is extremely musical but instinctive too, always riding the rhythm and aware of the space around or within a track. Tracks from Charles Earland, Squarepusher and Alvin Lucier to name but a few. Pure Class!
